FAYETTEVILLE — Police officers will increase traffic monitoring today in construction areas as part of a program to reduce accidents on College Avenue between Joyce Boulevard and Millsap Road and along North Garland Avenue.
Officers look for drivers following too close, improperly using the center turn lane, failing to yield or to signal a turn or lane change, improper right turns, distracted driving and disobeying traffic signals.
The enforcement is part of a Police Department effort to bring awareness to drivers concerning traffic collisions and construction zone safety to reduce the number of accidents.
