Earnings report

Companies reporting quarterly earnings Tuesday included:

Altria Group Inc., the tobacco company, a profit of $1.27 billion, or 63 cents a share, up from $1.22 billion, or 60 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue decreased 2.5 percent to $4.5 billion. Shares fell 89 cents to close at $35.99.

DuPont Co., the chemical company, a profit of $1.03 billion, or $1.11 a share, down from $1.17 billion, or $1.23 a share, a year ago. Revenue fell 1 percent to $9.8 billion. Shares fell 5 cents to close at $57.12.

Peabody Energy Corp., the coal miner, a profit of $90.3 million, or 33 cents a share, down from $204.7 million, or 75 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue fell 13 percent to $1.73 billion. Shares rose 82 cents to close at $17.14.

The Wendy’s Co. hamburger chain, a profit of $12.2 million, or 3 cents a share, up from a loss of $5.5 million, or 1 cent per share, a year ago. Revenue rose to $650.5 million. Shares rose 55 cents to close at $7.23.
