Zumbatomic classes set

Zumbatomic, a fun, Latin-inspired dance fitness class designed for children 4 to 12, is available from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 7 at the Metfield Clubhouse, 3 Euston Road in Bella Vista.

Zumbatomic teaches coordination, confidence, balance, teamwork, respect and more.

The cost is $20 per session for members and $25 per session for nonmembers. In addition, class participants without a photo identification card issued by the Property Owners Association will be required to pay the Metfield facility fee for each class.

The class will be taught by Hillary Sperry, a certified Zumba instructor.

School supplies being sought

The University of Phoenix, Northwest Arkansas Campus, has joined Boys & Girls Club of Benton County to collect school supplies through online donations and on-site collections.

Online monetary donations will allow the club to purchase supplies specifically needed by the club and its members. Some of the much-needed items include backpacks, pencils, pens, notebook paper, crayons,markers and highlighters.

This event will be held through July 30.

Book Fair this week

The Summer Reading Book Fair, sponsored by the Friends of the BentonvillePublic Library, is scheduled Monday through Saturday in the Bentonville Public Library’s Rotary Room. The Friends is a nonprofit volunteer group that supports the library; all proceeds will be used to increase the book collections for children and teens.

Scholastic offers books and items for all age groups.

Writing seminar

starts on Friday

Different Heartbeats: Prose and Poetry - A Writing Workshop and Book Study of Mary Oliver’s “Long Life: Essays and Other Writings” will be offered in five Friday sessions from 10 a.m. to noon July 26, Aug. 2, 9, 16 and 23 at Nightbird Books, 205 W. Dickson St.

in Fayetteville.

This is the fifth annual Summer Adult Creativity event presented by the Invitation To Write Project: Writing Opportunities For Adults. No-fee activities are held at regional arts businesses and nonprofits to foster and support the unique community environment they provide for the region.

The workshops will be led by June Jefferson, project coordinator. She is a memoirist, nature columnist and the Arkansas LifeWriting Workshop facilitator since 1996.

Blood Center seeks donors

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks supplies 38 area hospitals with life-saving blood donations that have been given by residents of the Ozarks. The CBCO is always looking for new donors and offers opportunities this week.
