Keep it clean

Clean BBQ

It’s summer barbecue time. Who doesn’t love the taste of meats and vegetables cooked out on a grill? Sure, the food tastes great, but cleaning up can be a bear.

Not to mention, grills aren’t always all that sanitary. There’s all sorts of old, cooked-on food on those bars and if you’re using a shared grill, there’s no telling what food that was. Also, if you use a brush to clean the grill between uses, some of those bristles might accidentally come off and end up in your burger.

Clean BBQ is a thick aluminum foil liner designed to protect the grill from your food and vice versa.

It’s got an accordion sort of design and it’s supposed to fit any grill with straight grill bars. The sheets are relatively thin, so cutting them down to size is easy.

They’re not perfect, though, and not for all situations. The packaging warns not to use the liners when cooking fatty meats, as that can lead to fire. Also, don’t use them when cooking at temperatures above 500 degrees. The liner might melt, leading to a huge mess.

Some users have complained that some food sticks to the liner and, in testing, we found that the liners can affect cooking time. So keep that in mind if you decide to try them.

Also, you might just like the black stuff and think it adds a nice flavor.
