The third day of hearings for liquor permits in Benton County got underway Thursday with 23 applicants on the agenda. The hopefuls represent the last of 55 applicants who were selected in a lottery drawing to receive a hearing this week.
The board has awarded 22 permits over the last two days and denied 10. The county is eligible for 55 liquor stores, based on its population. Not all 55 will be awarded this week. Those denied will have 30 days to appeal the decision before any other applicants will be considered.
