Siloam Springs police responded to a call at 6:30 p.m. Saturday concerning a report at 1523 Hefton Court of a suicidal man armed with a sword and a bow and arrows who had threatened family members and threatened suicide by police officer. The report also claimed the man had several vicious dogs with him.

When officers arrived, Fulfer fired an arrow at an officer, according to court documents. Police attempted to contact Fulfer, who started a fire at the back of the home, the affidavit states.

The probable cause affidavit claims a second arrow also was fired. Police then breached a privacy fence and saw Fulfer armed with a sword. Officers used a stun gun to subdue Fulfer.

Police also seized an aluminum vial. Fulfer claimed to police he had a vial that contained poison, the affidavit states.

Fulfer was treated at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital before being transported to the Benton County Jail.

Fulfer was arrested in April for possessing a sawed-off shotgun, according to court documents.

He is charged with a felony and misdemeanor criminal use of a prohibited weapon and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia in that case.

A Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputy went to Fulfer’s home April 26 to speak to the homeowner about contraband or weapons believed to be at the residence.

Fulfer was at the residence and told the deputy he had a room in the house. Fulfer gave the deputy permission to search the room, according to court documents.

The deputy found a loaded sawed-off shotgun, the probable cause affidavit states. The deputy also found a pair of brass knuckles hanging on a wall and some pipes with marijuana residue on them, according to court documents.

Fulfer told the deputy he received the shotgun for his 18th birthday. Fulfer wanted to know why he was being arrested for having the shotgun. The deputy told Fulfer he could not have a shotgun that had the barrel sawed off, according to court documents,

The affidavit claims Fulfer also had some self-made weapons hanging on a wall and a blasting cap.

Fulfer has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, according to the affidavit.

Prosecutors have not filed charges in connection with Fulfer’s arrest Saturday.
