Denton Gay of Springdale was named executive director of the Marian West Educational Foundation. Merry Dye of Rogers was appointed the organization’s program director. The foundation’s mission is to discourage distracted driving and other dangerous life choices.

Elise Mitchell of Fayetteville, chief executive officer of Mitchell Communications Group Inc., was featured on the Power List 2013 of 50 “game changers” dated July 1 on prweekus.com. In March 2013, PRWeek named her its 2013 Agency PR Professional of the Year. Dentsu Network acquired Mitchell Communications Group at the start of 2013 and appointed Mitchell to the Japanese company’s executive team and operating committee. Mitchell founded the firm in 1995 as a sole proprietorship in her home. It grew to $13 million in revenues in 2012 with 75 employees in the Fayetteville office with a national network of public relations specialists,according to the firm’s website.

Maggie Jo Pruitt, a senior in the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, has been named a 2013-14 campus ambassador for the Agriculture Future of America, which provides leader development, intern support and scholarships to students pursuing careers in the agriculture and food industries.

Pruitt, from Bergman in Boone County, is majoring in agricultural education, communication and technology and also serves as director of lectures on the Bumpers College Honors Student Board. This summer she is interning with Scotland’s Rural Collegein Edinburgh.

Marvin Childers of Little Rock, president of The Poultry Federation of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri, was named 2013 Industry Leader of the Year by the federation during the 54th Annual Poultry Festival held in Rogers in June.

Sheryl Davis, director of surgical services at Washington Regional Medical Center, recently achieved the designation of certified nurse, operating room, which required meeting eligibility guidelines and passing a nationally administered exam. Davis has been with Washington Regional for 25 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Henderson State University and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Arkansas. She previously earned the designations of a certified critical care registered nurse and a certified nurse specialist.

Dr. Michael J. Butler joined the medical staff of Siloam Springs Regional Hospital as a cardiologist at Siloam Springs Cardiology, 1675 W. Jefferson St., Suite C. He graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis; completed his residency at Keesler Medical Center at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss.; and completed a fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Penn.He is Board Certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and internal medicine.
