UAFS picks breakfast summit speaker

Ronald L. Routh will be the speaker for a morning workshop Aug. 8 by the Family Enterprise Center at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. He is vice president of instruction at Howard, Mohorn and Associates LLC, part of Dale Carnegie Training of the Mid-South. His family owns and operates Routh Wrecker Service in Little Rock.

The workshop will cover the basics of strategic planning and how it differs from tactical, day-to-day planning in family-run businesses.

The breakfast workshop begins at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 8 and will finish before noon at Latture Conference Center inside the Business and Industrial Institute, 5020 Grand Ave., on the UAFS campus. Crystal Bridges wins copper-use award

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville is among 14 winners of the North American Copper in Architecture Award, which celebrates new or recently restored buildings using architectural copper and copper alloys in their design.

The award program, established in 2008, promotes projects that display innovation and excellence in architectural copper applications, showcasing a wide range of design, detail and craftsmanship. Listed as project leaders were MG McGrath Inc. as sheet metal contractor, Safdie Architects, and a joint venture of Nabholz and Linbeck as general contractor. Crystal Bridges used 68,000 square feet of copper in 20-ounce copper panels along its seven roofs.

My Dentist to add location in Rogers

Oklahoma City-based My Dentist will open an office in Rogers later this summer. It will be the company’s 46th location.

The office at 2886 W. Walnut St. in Rogers is to open in August. My Dentist has offices at 3617 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale and 2868 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Fayetteville.

Kevin Offel, My Dentist chief executive officer, said in a news release the new location will create 15 jobs.
