Association, Lions Club Offer Free Vision Screenings

BELLA VISTA — The Property Owners Association and the Bentonville-Bella Vista Lions Club will offer free vision screenings for all ages from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 10 at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive.

The screenings will use the latest technology available for testing nonverbal and verbal children and adults. The equipment used eliminates the need for the individual to communicate or take a reading exam. A camera is used to examine the eyes, and pre-screening results will be provided for the individual to take to an optometrist. The Lions Club will have a list of referring eye care specialists available, according to a news release.

The club, which has a history of working with schools, scheduled the Saturday screenings to accommodate busy, working parents, prior to the start of school.

The vision screenings are free to the public; however, individuals must register by 5 p.m. Aug. 6. Late registrations will not be accepted.
