Police said Sisemore was living with his elderly mother in a recently purchased house, thought to be vacant, according to an arrest report. The house smelled of ammonia and cat feces and had bugs on the floors, according to the report. The kitchen was covered in trash, and the stove was unsafe to use, according to the report.

Police officers found Lois Sisemore, David Sisemore’s elderly mother, lying in feces, according to the report. Dead and live bugs also were found in her bed.

Lois Sisemore told officers she was bedridden for five years and her son takes care of her, according to the report. David Sisemore told the officers he didn’t know when he last took his mother to a doctor.

David Sisemore was released Sunday from the Washington County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
