Madison County man gets 60 years in child pornography case

A Japton man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison and a $25,000 fine for producing images of child pornography, according to a U.S. attorney’s office news release.

Judge Jimm Larry Hendren on Monday sentenced James Hanna, 67, to 60 years without the possibility of parole.

In August 2012, a concerned parent told the Madison County sheriff’s office that Hanna had sexually assaulted two 13-year-old girls. In a follow-up interview, the two girls reportedly told officers Hanna had taken sexually explicit photos of them, the release states.

Officers received a warrant to search Hanna’s home and confiscated computers, digital cameras and digital storage devices that contained “multiple sexually explicit images” of at least six minors, ages 13 to 16, according to the release.
