Man sentenced in Mena threats

FORT SMITH - A Houston man who federal authorities say threatened to kill employees at the Polk County Department of Human Services office in Mena last year has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison.

Gregory Judge, 50, went before U.S. District Judge P.K. Holmes III, who sentenced him Monday to one year and nine months in prison. Judge pleaded guilty in February to threatening to injure persons.

According to court records, Judge called the human services office on Oct. 10 asking to see his children. His parental rights had been revoked because of a history of drug addiction and refusal to participate in drug testing and parenting classes.

His request was rejected and, according to the records, he became angry and threatened to kill everyone in the office, to blow up the building and to die in the attack.
