BASKETBALL

• A Summer Basketball League is being offered by the Rogers Activity Center. The league will be open to students in grades 5-8 for the 2013-14 academic school year. Cost for registration is $60. Each participant must have a current RAC membership ($20). Separate boys and girls teams will be formed. Each team will practice once or twice per week and play two games per week with a maximum of eight games in the season. Program will run through Aug. 2. • FBC Centerton Upward Basketball Camp will be held July 29-Aug. 2 in the church gymnasium. Camp sessions will be from 6 to 9 p.m. for first through sixth grade boys/girls. Campers will receive a ball that can be taken home on the last day of camp. Early registration cost per child is $40. After July 19, cost increases to $50 per camper. Deadline for registration is July 26. Forms can be picked up at FBC Centerton and may be returned or mailed to P.O. Box 220 Centerton, AR 72719. FOOTBALL

• Registration for the Rogers Activity Center’s Adult Flag Football season will be taken through Aug. 19 at the Rogers Activity Center. The entire entry fee will be due when the roster is turned in. The entry fee is $500 per team. League games will begin the week of Sept. 3. Each team will play one to two games per week. Teams will receive 10 games. The season will last approximately 7-8 weeks. • NWA Youth Sports fall tackle football signups are July 21-28 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Aug. 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Academy Sports and Outdoors locations in Fayetteville and Rogers. GOLF

• The Friends of the Highlands annual Fourth of July Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, July 4. The event is a two-person scramble with each member contributing at least five drives. The tournament begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Participants should check-in by 12:30 p.m. Following the tournament, dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. at Mulligans at the Highlands. The tournament is limited to the first 72 couples. The cost is $60 per couple, which includes dinner, tax and tip. The fee, however, does not include green fees and carts. • The First Tee will offer 16 weeks of Summer Golf Camp in 2013. Camps will run Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays will be reserved for rain-outs. Registration for First Tee members is $75, and for non-members $90. Camps at the Tyson Foods First Tee Learning Center in Lowell will be offered the weeks of July 8, 15, 22 and 29. Bella Vista camps, at the Brittany Golf course, will be the weeks of July 15 and 22. Fayetteville camps, at Razorback Golf Course, will be offered the weeks of July 8 and 29. • The First Tee is now taking registrations for its golf and life skills classes that begin in July. Annual registration is $30, making participants eligible to register in seven sessions of classes (April-October) and receive discounts at the Tyson Foods First Tee Learning Center in Lowell and at participating area golf courses. Registration for the July session is $25 and includes an 1 ½ hour class each week for four weeks. Classes will be offered in Bella Vista, Fayetteville and Lowell in the July session. • The First Tee has scheduled its Powerade Summer Golf Tour, in cooperation with Lindsey Golf Management. The Powerade Tour is open to participants age 12 and over. The Tour will play the Links on July 19 at Springdale, on July 12 at the Links at Bentonville, and on Friday and July 26 at the Greens at Blossom Way. LACROSSE

• The Rogers Activity Center and the NWA LAX Club will hold a four-week Lacrosse Academy for boys and girls in grades 3-12. The sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday of each week from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The academy will be held at Forester Park and the fee is $60 per session. A $20 RAC membership is required. Equipment needed includes a lacrosse stick, lacrosse helmert, lacrosse goggles and a mouthpiece. Some equipment will be available. Register at the RAC. SOFTBALL

There will be six divisions offered: Men’s Open ($480), Men’s Industrial ($480), Men’s Church ($380), and Coed Church ($380), Coed Open ($380) and Women’s Open ($380). League games will begin the week of Sept. 3. Each team will usually play a doubleheader one night a week at Rogers Regional Sports Park. Teams will receive 14-16 games. • Fayetteville Fastpitch League softball camp is July 15-16 at Lady Dawg Yard for players in 6U and 8U from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and 10U-12U from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Instruction by Fayetteville coach Jason Shirey and members of lady Bulldogs’ team.
