Tyson earnings call, shareholders meeting set for Friday

Tyson Foods Inc. will hold its first-quarter 2013 earnings conference call and its annual shareholders meeting Friday.

Parties interested in hearing the 8 a.m. earnings call with executives of the Springdale-based meat-processing giant may listen in by dialing (888) 455-8283 and using the pass code “Tyson Foods.”

A telephone replay will be available about one hour after the call and through March 1 by dialing (866) 489-8051, the company said.

Later, the 10 a.m. shareholders meeting will be accessible by dialing (888) 455-3619, also with the pass code “Tyson Foods.”

The shareholders meeting will be webcast live at http://ir.tyson.com, and a replay will be available there, but a telephone replay will not be available of the meeting.

In the fourth quarter of 2012, Tyson nearly doubled its earnings over the year before, even as revenue slightly dipped. It reported net income of $185 million, or 51 cents a share, up from net income of $95 million, or 26 cents a share, in the fourth quarter of 2011.
