Lincoln schools to close Friday, Monday

Lincoln Public Schools will closed again after today and will reopen Tuesday to allow students to get over the mysterious stomach ailment.

Superintendent Clay Hendrix said students were still going home at a rate of 12 to 15 an hour after coming down with an ailment that causes serious vomiting.

“My concern is how fast they are going home,” he said after reviewing the number of absentees and the number who were getting sick at school. Twelve students represents about 1 percent of the 1,200-member student body in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Lincoln students returned Thursday after the schools closed early Monday when some 250 students were either absent or got sick at school. The buildings were disinfected during the two day break.
