A $1 million donation was enough to stop construction on Mercy Medical Center’s seventh floor — but only long enough to announce plans for the vacant space.
Mercy Master Plan
Mercy of Northwest Arkansas has implemented several components of the master plan outlined in September 2011.
The three main points addressed in the initial plan were: a new multispeciality clinic in Bella Vista, a multiprovider care office in downtown Rogers and a build-out of the medical center’s seventh floor to add more services.
Officials broke ground on Mercy Bella Vista in September 2012. The 30,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in this fall.
The clinic, at the intersection of Dartmoor and Lambeth roads, will include high-tech imaging, primary care, internal medicine, pediatrics, urgent care and a pharmacy drive-through.
Scott Street, Mercy of Northwest Arkansas president and chief executive officer, said Mercy is in the process of securing space for one or two clinics in downtown Rogers.
Monday Mercy officials unveiled the first step on the seventh floor build-out — a Senior Behavioral Health Program. Street said he hopes it is operational in early summer.
The remainder of the seventh floor will be used for a long-term, acute care unit.
