Weekend wrecks kill three drivers

— Three people died from injuries suffered in separate accidents on Arkansas roads Friday and Saturday, according to preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality accident reports.

About 2 p.m. Friday, Amy Marie May, age unknown, of Sparkman was traveling northbound on U.S. 67, less than half a mile north of Arkansas 283 in Hot Spring County, when she veered onto the shoulder, then back across the roadway and struck a culvert, a report states. May’s vehicle rolled over and came to a rest in a ditch.

May died of injuries sustained in the accident. Olivia May, 2, a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to Mercy Hospital Hot Springs. The extent of her injuries and her condition were not available Saturday.

About 6:20 p.m. Friday, Nita Martin, 39, of Vilonia was driving north on Cypress Valley Road in Vilonia in a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier and pulled out in front of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jonathan Burgin, 27, of Conway that was headed east on U.S. 64, a report states.

Martin died from injuries suffered in the collision. Burgin was taken to Conway Regional Medical Center. The extent of his injuries and his condition were not available Saturday.

About 3:50 a.m. Saturday, Walter Hall, 69, of Canton, Texas, was driving northbound on U.S. 67, about 15 miles north of Newport, when he veered off the road, overcorrected and lost control of his 2000 Chevrolet pickup, a report states. Hall was thrown from the truck and died of injuries suffered in the accident.
