Where I live: My family (husband Keith and daughter Rebekah) bought our home in Otter Creek seven years ago. We have two dogs - Jolie, a 7-year-old English mastiff, and Luna, a 6-year-old rescued terrier-mix mutt. We moved to Little Rock from Ruston, La., in 2003 and took our time finding a neighborhood that would offer a good local elementary school as well as a diverse set of neighbors.

Occupation: Communications director at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s William H. Bowen School of Law. I manage the law school’s communications, marketing and public relations strategies. I also serve on the Foundation Fund Board for Youth Home, a nonprofit psychiatric treatment center for emotionally troubled adolescents and their families.

My favorite space: My “me” room. This is a room devoted to exercise and work.

Why? I have a treadmill and can’t live without it. I read on my iPad while pounding out three to five miles each weekday. I’ve worked up to nine or 10 miles on the weekend days. I also use the iPad in my yoga. I suppose you could say I depend on my iPad as much as my treadmill to stay sane and in shape.

If I could change one thing to improve this space, I would: Change the lighting.
