Warrant Issued for Former Principal

Update

Christopher Webb was booked into the Washington County Jail at 7:56 p.m. Thursday and released at 9:31 p.m. the same night on a $5,120 bond, according to the jail website.

— West Fork District Court issued an arrest warrant last week for a former Farmington High School principal charged with choking a woman and killing his dog.

Kelly Cantrell, spokeswoman for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, said the county warrant was issued Jan. 15 for Christopher Webb on suspicion of misdemeanor contempt of court stemming from violation of a protection order.

“The warrant came through Farmington, but they recused themselves because they’re too close to the case and wanted someone else to take care of it,” Cantrell said. “They sent it through West Fork. The judge signed it and told our warrants clerk that since they recused themselves and it wasn’t a West Fork warrant, they had to make it a county warrant.”

Webb faces charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, aggravated assault, third-degree domestic battery, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a minor. On July 19, police said they found a naked Webb choking his girlfriend in a bloody bathroom. Police also found a dead dog in the bathtub.

Webb’s ex-wife, Dina Andrejcik, requested an order of protection in July.

Andrejcik and Webb, who have two children, divorced in 2004 following a nine-year marriage, according to the protection order.

According to the Jan. 15 warrant, the order of protection was set to expire at midnight Nov. 4.

Webb reportedly sent four text messages to Andrejcik at 3:44 p.m. on Nov. 4.

Andrejcik said she contacted police and requested a new temporary order of protection.

“I’m afraid of the safety of my children and myself,” she stated in the affidavit.

Webb’s trial was reset in December for Feb. 25 to allow time for a mental examination to be completed.

He hadn’t been arrested as of Wednesday afternoon, according to Cantrell.
