Fishing this week

— HOT SPOTSLAKE CATHERINE Rainbow trout fishing is very good with large numbers of fish being caught. Bank fishermen are catching limits of quality rainbows using redworms, wax worms and meal worms, night crawlers and PowerBait. Spin fishermen using RoosterTails, Super Dupers and Little Cleos when

the turbines are running.

LAKE DARDANELLE Bass are being caught on jerkbaits or green/chartreuse Baby Bee

crankbait fished slowly. Anglers have caught a few bass upriver in the backwater areas using jigs. White bass are biting fairly well on Rat-L-Traps and jerkbaits in clear water. Catfish are biting well on cut shad up and down the river. Crappie fishing is good in Piney Bay, Shoal Bay, near the

outlet of the nuclear plant and the strip pits. The best place for stripers has been the outlet area of the nuclear plant. They are being caught on white jigs with grub

jerkbaits and Rat-L-Traps.

ARKANSAS RIVER (MORRILTON) Catfishing is very good on shad-and-worm combinations fished on the bottom near deepholes. Stripers are being caught below the dams on wobble spoons. Sauger are being caught below the dam on yellow/red

speck rigs.

LAKE NORFORK Striper fishing is pretty good back in creeks and in the deep river channel in the Henderson, Bidwell, 101 and 6A areas.

The spotted bass bite has been nearly nonstop along bluff lines. Anglers are vertically jigging spoons in 28-40 feet of water. A few largemouth bass have been caught suspended 30-40 feet deep in 85 feet of water. The best

location for largemouth bass has been near brush in 30-40 feet of water.

WHITE RIVER Trout fishing is excellent using wax worms and Power Bait. The water is clear, with two to three generators running most days.
