PUBLIC VIEWPOINT: Nation Needs Honest Representatives

I just finished reading “Profiles in Courage” for the second time and remembered the one trait common to all those men: They put the country ahead of their party, ahead of the people they represented, ahead of their own re-election. Who in Washington would do that today?

Your "poor white grandchildren" growing up in a minority. Imagine, if you can, what the Cherokees, Choctaws, Quachitas, Sioux, Chippewa, Navajo and
Blackfoot natives thought a 170 years ago when barbaric hordes of European settlers ran them from their native lands at gun point, marched them on long death marches from their native homes, stole their property and contaminated tens of thousands of their kin with deadly disease. The horror.
