SPRINGDALE — Police arrested a Springdale man Sunday in connection with allowing an 11-year-old girl to watch pornographic material on his cellphone and failing to register as a sex offender.
According to police, Jason Hicks, 31, had been living in Springdale for three weeks and failed to register after moving to the area. Police identified Hicks as a registered sex offender from Smackover for a previous offense of sexual assault in the second degree.
The 11-year-old told police she had watched several pornographic videos on Hicks’ phone. According to a report, Hicks told police he had the videos on his phone, but denied showing them to the girl.
Hicks was arrested in connection with felony failure to register as a sex offender and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was in the Washington County Detention Center on Sunday on a $2,500 bond.
