Gabriel Creasey, 9, checks out the $1 bill he received Friday while attending a program on saving money presented by representatives of Walmart’s Finance and Accounting Department at Elm Tree Elementary School in Bentonville. The Arkansas Kids Count program, sponsored by the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, teaches third- and fourth-graders the importance of saving money, spending wisely and setting financial goals.

Bloomberg Businessweek has named the city the Best Place to Raise Kids in Arkansas.

How can Bella Vista be the best place to raise kids when they do not have a public school in the city? I understand that the Bentonville School District transports over two thousand students from Bella Vista to Bentonville. I might support a millage for a new high school if it includes the purchace of land to build a combined elementary and middle school in Bella Vista. No guarantees vote no.

Not to mention all the students in Bella Vista that attend Gravette public schools. Strikes me as "odd" that such great news is announced by that dying relic, the BV Property Owners Association. Does Bloomberg Business Week not realize, that Bella Vista is a City now and the POA is NOT the government?

I for one am tired of giving my money to the Bentonville School district so the business community can get the bells and whitsles (curb appeal) that creates growth and more profits for them. May be the citizens of Bella Vista are just a cash cow for Bentonville.

You are right about Cooper being in Bella Vista but more schools are needed in Bella Vista.

It is hard to believe that Springdale ranks high in anything except being trashy and unsightly.
