Search Under Way For Missing Shotgun

Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputies spent hours Thursday searching for an unloaded shotgun that fell off a part-time deputy’s car Wednesday night.

Dumb Mistake yes but how do you fire a guy who is a Volunteer & is paid $1 per month. Who had previously been a full time deputy with all the proper training in place. Wouldn't think volunteers with this type of experience are a dime a dozen or low hanging fruit.
How about he pay for 1/2 the cost of replacement you could deduct it from his $1 a month salary & get 400 free months of his service to the community
1-DWI arrest from him will probably brake even the countys loss during his vounteer service. Other than egg on the face of the department whats the problem here. Crap happens the guy was helping out.

It will probably be OK just so long as it doesn't hold more than 10 shells. It may be in Mexico by now.
