NCAA DIVISION II ROUNDUPS

— GAC MEN HARDING 81, SO. ARKANSAS 77, 2 OT

Weston Jameson scored six points in double overtime to lead Harding to a victory over Southern Arkansas at the W.T. Watson Activity Center in Magnolia.

Southern Arkansas (6-9, 2-7) led 62-59 late in the second half before Harding’s Tony Cochran made a three-pointer with 4.4 seconds left to send the game to overtime. It was tied 70-70 after the first overtime.

Cochran made 5 of 10 three-pointers to finish with 21 points, Hayden Johnson finished with 19 points and Zach Roddenberry had 15 points and 16 rebounds.

Jameson finished with a season-high 13 points for Harding (14-3, 7-2), which has won six consecutive games and shares the GAC lead with Southwestern Oklahoma State.

Rodney Hill had 19 points for Southern Arkansas, while Brandon Demmings had 18.

ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 56, ARKANSAS TECH 49

Kori Forge scored 19 points and Arkansas-Monticello forced 25 turnovers in beating Arkansas Tech at Steelman Fieldhouse in Monticello.

The Boll Weevils (9-5, 6-2) were held to 38.8 percent shooting and 3-of-20 three-point shooting but scored 17 points off turnovers and made 15 of 26 free throws.

Arkansas Tech (8-6, 5-3) made 9 of 26 three-pointers but made only 4 of 8 free throws.

Jared Williamson led the Wonder Boyswith 20 points.

SW OKLAHOMA STATE 90, HENDERSON STATE 84

Marin Zelalija scored 25 points and two other Southwestern Oklahoma State players had at least 20 as the Great American Conference’s co-leader beat Henderson State at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia.

Rod Campher added 22 points and Thomas Davis added 20 for the Bulldogs (7-7, 6-2), who shot 54 percent from the floor and made 12 of 23 three-pointers.

Joe McCoy led Henderson State (8-6, 3-5), which shot 47.6 percent, with 18 points, while Andrew Ensley and Jonathan Fitzgerald each had 17.

NW OKLAHOMA STATE 82, OUACHITA BAPTIST 78

Ouachita Baptist missed its last four shots from the floor as it watched a four-point lead with 2:18 left turn into a four-point loss at Bill Vining Arena in Arkadelphia.

OBU (7-7, 3-5) took a 74-70 lead on a Nigel Ramsey jumper with 2:18 left, but Ramsey missed a three-pointer, Julian Laday missed two jumpers and Colt Fason missed a shot inside while Northwestern Oklahoma State (7-7, 5-3) went on a late run.

The Rangers made two three-pointers and 4 of 4 free throws in the final 2:18 to complete the victory.

Michael Morris had 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers while Ramsey had 16, Laday had 12 and Fason had 11.

Jonathan Freemyer had 24 points for the Rangers, while Marshall Bell had 18 and Daryl Glover had 13.

HEARTLAND MEN ARKANSAS-FORT SMITH 63, TEXAS-PERMIAN BASIN 60

Dusan Stojanovic made a layup with 19 seconds left to give Arkansas-Fort Smith (9-6, 5-0 Heartland Conference) its first lead and an eventual victory over Texas-Permian Basin on Thursday in Odessa, Texas.

After Stojanovic’s layup, Dijon Farr made a free throw and Blake Branham made another to finish the scoring.

Stojanovic finished with a game-high 15 points for the Lions.

GAC WOMEN OUACHITA BAPTIST 62, NW OKLAHOMA STATE 54

Nashia James scored the first five points of the second half to erase Ouachita Baptist’s halftime deficit and the Lady Tigers didn’t trail again in a victory Thursday at Bill Vining Arena in Arkadelphia.

Northwestern Oklahoma State led 28-24 at halftime before James made a jumper in the lane and then a three-pointer to give Ouachita Baptist a 29-28 lead with 19:03 left. The Lady Tigers led by as many as 11 points twice in the second half.

Monica Williams led OBU (12-2, 7-1) with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while James had 19 points.

Macy Gibson led Northwestern Oklahoma State (4-10, 3-5) with 12 points.

ARKANSAS TECH 70, ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 63

Jessica Weatherford scored 19 points and had 10 rebounds, while Jasmine Poole had 18 points and 10 rebounds tohelp Arkansas Tech hold off Arkansas-Monticello at Steelman Fieldhouse in Monticello.

The game was tied seven time and the lead changed hands 12 times in the first half, but the Golden Suns (9-5, 6-2) never trailed in the second half.

The Cotton Blossoms (2-11, 0-8) pulled within a point with 12:18 left, but the Golden Suns then went on a 15-5 run over the next seven minutes to put the game away.

HARDING 91, SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 44

Kristen Celsor scored 21 points and had nine rebounds to lead Harding to an easy victory at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center in Magnolia.

Shana Holmes added 18 points for Harding (10-4, 6-2), which closed the first half on an 18-3 run and led 45-24 at halftime.

Tori Nichols led Southern Arkansas (0-13, 0-8) with 10 points and six rebounds.

HEARTLAND WOMEN TEXAS-PERMIAN BASIN 80, ARKANSAS-FORT SMITH 60

A slow first half turned into a big loss for Arkansas-Fort Smith in Odessa, Texas.

Arkansas-Fort Smith shot 9 of 23 from the floor and made 2 of 11 three-pointers in falling behind 44-24 at halftime.

Tiffany Addison led the Lady Lions (5-11, 1-3 Heartland Conference) with 12 points, making four three-pointers. Katie BenAmor added 10 points and Angi Ramey had 11 rebounds.
