Lake Chicot amends management plan

The Lake Chicot Management Plan has been revised with a single change after the public overwhelming approved moving the lake draw down to after July 4. Fisheries staff from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission held a public meeting last year, along with an online survey, to gauge the public’s interest in removing the 10-inch crappie length limit and changing the start of draw downs until after July 4. Many anglers voiced opposition to removing the crappie length limit, which was dropped from the proposed management plan. but draw downs proposal was met with strong approval and was approved.
