West Fork Seeks Volunteers for Public Meeting

West Fork Mayor Francis Hime announced the city seeks volunteers from each of the four wards to participate in a Jan. 24 meeting concerning the future of the Water and Sewer Commission.

The public meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. at the city administration building at 262 Main St.

The commission, City Council and a representative from each ward will act as a committee at the public meeting. More than 65 percent of 909 West Fork voters approved a measure in November calling for the abolition of the city’s Water and Sewer Commission.

The initiative called for the city to take over operations of the utility.

The City Council in December didn’t pass a proposal to dissolve the commission.

Any resident who wishes to volunteer can contact the HIme at 225-1611 or by email at [email protected].
