Commission Action

The Rogers Planning Commission met Tuesday and passed:

• A conditional use permit for Gary Bennett to allow vehicle sales and service at 218 N. Second St. The property is zoned open display commercial.

• A private club conditional use permit request from Marcelino Alvarez, representing El Club Sonidero Inc., 2120 S. Eighth St., a highway commercial zone.

• A conditional use permit for Walmart to allow gasoline sales at 5000 Pauline Whitaker Parkway, a highway commercial zone.

• A request from Delta Bank & Trust, custodian for Eugene T. Kelley, to rezone four acres west of Interstate 540 and 28th Street from agricultural to highway commercial

• A large-scale development plan for Northwest Medical clinic at 2000 S. 42nd St., a highway commercial zone.

• A large-scale development plan for Slim Chickens at 2002 S. Promenade Blvd., a highway commercial zone.

• A large-scale development plan for Perk Me Up at 1307 1/2 W. Hudson Road, a highway commercial zone.

• A request to place a temporary concession trailer at 1303 W. Walnut St., a highway commercial zone.

What was tabled:

• A request from PWX LLC to rezone 21.18 acres west of Dixieland Road and south of Brooks Place from a mix of residential office and highway commercial to residential multifamily, 18 units per acre, with individual ownership was tabled at the owner’s request. There is opposition from a residential subdivision. The owners want to have time to discuss the project with the residents of the subdivision.
