FAYETTEVILLE — Police arrested a 26-year-old man Monday after a 14-year-old girl said she had sex with him, according to an arrest report.

Peter Alvarez, of 951 Betty Joe Drive, faces felony charges of fourth-degree sexual assault and parole violation.

The girl’s mother told police she found her daughter at Alvarez’s home Sunday and the girl admitted having consensual sex with him, police said.

Police arrested Alvarez on Monday. He denied any sexual contact with the child. He later said he woke up without any clothes on and did not remember what happened, police said.

Alvarez told police that’s what happens when you drink too much, according to the report.

He was in the Washington County Detention Center on Monday without bond.
