ROGERS — A Rogers man was arrested last week in connection with the rape of two 12-year-old girls.

Arcadio Flores, 52, of Rogers is charged with a Class Y felony, according to a news release from the Rogers Police Department.

Flores was accused of unlawful sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl who is now 14, resulting in an initial arrest warrant being issued, according to the release. During the course of the investigation, police received information Flores was involved in a second incident involving another 12-year-old girl, according to the release. The girl is also now 14.

Flores also was arrested in connection with the second incident, according to the release.

Under Arkansas law, a person commits rape if he or she engages in sexual intercourse or deviate sexual activity with another person younger than 14.

Flores was being held Monday in the Benton County Jail on $5,000 bond.
