BENTONVILLE — Two people were injured Friday when a motorcycle collided with a Bentonville school bus. The accident happened on McNeely Road about 4:30 p.m.
Christopher DeWitt, transportation director for Bentonville School District, said the school bus was traveling east on McNeely Road when a motorcycle rounded a curve and headed toward the bus.
DeWitt said the bus driver attempted to avoid the motorcycle, but the motorcycle slid into the front of the school bus.
Deputy Andrew Adams of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said the driver and passenger on the motorcycle were taken to an area hospital with injuries. Adams didn’t believe the injuries were life-threatening.
DeWitt said the driver was close to finishing her route when the incident happened.
“She’s shaken up,” DeWitt said. “She’s just concerned about everyone.”
Neither the driver or the five students on the bus were injured.
