Central, all Ready, rallies late

— Alaysia Ready scored 10 of her 11 points in the fourth quarter to spark a Little Rock Central rally in a 52-48 victory over the West Memphis girls.

Ready, who tied for team high scoring honors with Jamie Ruffins, made 8 of 9 free throws in the final quarter as the Lady Tigers came back from a 12-point deficit with3:58 to play.

Ready made three free throws after being fouled on a three-point attempt. It swung the momentum back toward Little Rock Central as the Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Devils 14-2 to close out the game.

Little Rock Central (11-4, 3-0 7A/6A East) converted 18 of 32 from the free-throw line, but it went 12 of 13 from the free-throw line in the final four minutes.

A rebound basket by Ruffins with 1:13 to play completed the comeback, giving the visitors their first lead since the7:13 mark of the third quarter. Taylor Lewis, who scored 10 points, sealed the victory for Central when she made two free throws with 13.8 seconds to play.

Central led 21-20 at halftime, but West Memphis (11-6, 2-1) went on a 12-4 run to seize control.

West Memphis senior center Raquel Logan, who fouled out with six seconds to play, led West Memphis with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. The Lady Devils also got 10 points from Alexis Hamlet and Jasmine Patterson scored 9.
