Best Buy shares rise on encouraging holiday sales

Shoppers wait in line for the midnight opening of a Best Buy Co. store in Peoria, Ill., on Thanksgiving day. A price match program helped its stores’ sales during the holiday season.
Shares of Best Buy Co. jumped Friday after the electronics chain showed signs of starting to reverse declining sales during the Christmas shopping season, a better-than-expected result.
