10 Arrested In Prostitution Sting

— Police arrested six men and four women during a prostitution sting Thursday, said Keith Foster, Rogers Police Department public information officer.

Police posted online advertisements and answered others as part of the sting. They arrested the 10 people at a Rogers hotel.

The men ranged in age from 23 to 58. Four were charged with sexual solicitation, and two were charged with sexual solicitation and possession of a controlled substance.

The four women ranged in age from 20 to 41. All four were charged with prostitution. One woman was arrested in connection with theft after she attempted to take the money and leave, Foster said. The theft charge is a misdemeanor.

Sexual solicitation is a Class B misdemeanor and prostitution is a Class B misdemeanor in Arkansas.

Rogers police conducted their last prostitution sting in answer to a complaint, Foster said. They arrested eight women and five men in connection with an August 2011 sting.

No one incident spurred this week’s investigation, Foster said.

“You don’t want to ignore anything for too long,” he said.
