Springdale Envisions Sidewalk Work

School District and city officials continue to work to add sidewalks to increase students’ safety when they walk to and from school.

Safe Routes To School Program Goals

• To enable and encourage children, including those with disabilities, to walk and bicycle to school.

• To make bicycling and walking to school a safer and more appealing transportation option, thereby encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle from an early age.

• To facilitate the planning, development and implementation of projects and activities that will improve safety and reduce traffic, fuel consumption and air pollution in the vicinity of schools.

Senior Center Parking Improvement Planned

Jewell Barnett and husband Clyde Barnett dance Thursday at the Springdale Senior Center. The Barnetts will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary later this month and go to many of the senior centers in the county to dance for their health.
