New Council Sworn In

Three New Members Take Their Places At First Meeting

Seven new Bentonville police officers, from left, Kevin Albert, Ben Peters, Andy Oliver, Nicholas Brown, Andrew Corbett, James Boothman and Adam Corbett, were sworn in Tuesday night at the Bentonville City Council meeting. Mayor Bob McCaslin, second from right, swore the officers in at the meeting. Police chief Jon Simpson, right, congratulated the new officers after the ceremony.

The City Council voted to classify specialized training courses as a professional service at Tuesday’s meeting, waiving bidding for the courses in the future.

• Appointed Rick Rogers to the Board of Adjustment for a five-year term

• Awarded $1,250 incentive pay to ARCO Construction for completing the District Court parking lot expansion five days ahead of schedule

• Awarded the bid for the expansion of Electric Department Substation C to BBC Electrical for $353,509.
