LR Hall, Scaife hold on for victory

— The Little Rock Hall Lady Warriors withstood a late charge from Conway to take a 62-52 road victory Tuesday night.

Tyler Scaife, a Rutgers signee, led Little Rock Hall with 26 points. She also stepped up on the defensive end, and set up teammates for a number of baskets.

“[Scaife] is the type of player who tries to get everybody involved,” Little Rock Hall Coach Selita Farr said. “When you need her to play defense, she can play defense, and she can turn it on when you need her to score.”

Little Rock Hall (14-3, 2-0 7A/6A-Central) pulled ahead 11-8 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.The Lady Warriors led by 12 points at halftime and 15 after three quarters.

Conway (11-3, 1-1) made a run in the fourth quarter, using an up-tempo game to slice the deficit to less than 10 points on several occasions. Jordan Danberry’s scoop shot got Conway within 54-45. Conway’s Kianna Speight then had a good look at a three-pointer, but it rattled out.

Enjonae Chambers’ threepointer with two minutes left made it 56-48. Conway had a chance to get closer, but Christin Rogers missed the front end of a 1-and-1. Scaife then scored on the other end to seal it for Little Rock Hall.
