PINE BLUFF - The City Council today will consider a resolution to contract with a North Carolina firm to subsidize new police patrol cars with advertisement revenue. The firm will sell the city each new car for $1 in return for displaying corporate decals for three years. “I’m looking at this as a way to save the city money,” said Alderman Dale Dixon, who sponsored the proposed resolution. “If we buy 10 new police cars a year, it is going to cost us at least $250,000 and this is a way that we can save funds and not have to raise taxes.”
