My favorite space is: My music room, which showcases my baby grand piano.
Why? I’ve studied and played the piano since I was 8 years old. It has been a source of joy, solace, relaxation and therapy for me. My mother used to say she could always tell how I was feeling by how I played the piano. Ray Charles and Billy Joel’s song “Baby Grand” describes my feelings perfectly. When I was looking for homes in Little Rock, the main prerequisite was a perfect space for my baby grand - and since I’m single and didn’t need a lot of space, that was a bit of a challenge. I finally found a house with the music room I wanted. It’s sunny and bright and makes me feel good every time I am in it, or even just pass by it. I also love to gather a group of friends around my piano for a sing a-long. I have a picture on the wall of my music room showing me conducting the Krakow Symphony when they visited Arkansas.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Be in there more frequently playing the piano.
