The 2013 Eureka Gras Mardi Gras Extravaganza will kick off at 5 p.m. today at the Rowdy Beaver Tavern on U.S. 62 West in Eureka Springs.

The Krewe of Krazo will unveil King Krazo VIII and Queen Eureka VIII at the event. Second line dancing also is planned.

On Jan. 19, the group will host a Taste of N’Awlins event at Keel’s Creek Winery on U.S. 62 East. Cafe au lait and beignets will be served starting at 2 p.m.

Sponsor Appreciation Day and the Christening of the Floats will begin at 5 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Rowdy Beaver Tavern, while the Light & Sound Parade is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 2 along Spring and Main Streets.

The annual Hookers and Jokers Ball will be 6 p.m. Feb. 7 the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center. The theme for this year’s ball is “Aquarius Eureka,” and costumes are encouraged. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Terrie and the Executives are scheduled to perform, and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. Tickets are available by calling (479) 253-8737.

The Coronation Royalty Ball will begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Crescent Hotel. Formal attire or costumes are recommended.

The event will include the coronation of this year’s Eureka Gras royalty. A Champagne buffet supper is planned, and music will be provided by Swing and a Miss.

Tickets are $35 per person. Reservations can be made by calling (479) 981-9551.

The annual Mardi Gras parade will begin at 2 p.m. Feb. 9 in downtown Eureka Springs. A canine parade featuring the Krewe of Barkus will precede the event.

The Krazo Kostume Kontest will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the New Delhi Cafe. The annual Beaux Arts Masquerade Ball is planned that evening starting at 8 p.m. at the Basin Park Hotel’s Barefoot Ballroom.

Ultra Suede is scheduled to perform at the ball.

A Jazz Brunch New Orleans Style is set for 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Arti Gras artist reception is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Feb.

11 at the Caribe Cantina, while the Krazo Second Line Krawl will begin at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Pied Piper Tavern.

The St. ’Lizbeth’s King Cake Ball and Mardi Gras Supper will be 6-10:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at St. Elizabeth’s Parish Center, 232 Passion Play Road. The event will include a Cajun dinner and live music by Naturally Brass. Tickets cost $35 per person or $65 per couple. More information is available by calling (479) 636-8864.
