Irving, Texas-based Pinnacle Propane LLC said Friday that it has acquired the assets of Hiwasse-based Tri-State Propane as it expands its presence in Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma.
Tri-State Propane, established in 1996 and based in Benton County, offered propane refills, tanks and cylinders to customers in Northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma.
“This acquisition allows us to enter northwest Arkansas, a vibrant area showing continued population and economic growth. We are excited to continue the legacy of customer service that John and Julie Holloway have used to build Tri State over the last 16 years,” Rob Chalmers, senior vice president of corporate development at Pinnacle, said in a statement.
Pinnacle President Chris Hill said the company plans to maintain a local presence, adding that he expects all of Tri-State’s employees to stay on.
Tri-State Propane will be rebranded as Pinnacle Propane in the coming weeks, Pinnacle said. The Hiwasse site, at 13488 W. Arkansas 72, will continue to offer propane-bottle filling at the store as well as delivery, fork-lift exchange and other services, the company said.
