Police: Couple Arrested in Robbery Attempt

A Fayetteville man and his wife have been arrested in connection with an attempt to extort money.

Miles McCutcheon, 26, of 11522 Pierce Road in Fayetteville was arrested Tuesday in connection with felony robbery and terroristic threatening. Latrisha McCutcheon, 28, was arrested Wednesday in connection with felony robbery, according to a police department news release.

The arrests came after a call Dec. 30 reporting a prowler on Angela Street. The caller told police he saw a man dressed in a ski mask who rang his doorbell.

The man fled, but the caller found a note demanding jewelry, gold, silver and gem stones be placed in a bag and dropped off at a picnic table at Lake Atalanta in Rogers at 7 p.m. The note stated the writer threatened to harm the caller’s grandchildren if the demand was not met.

The caller turned the note over to Springdale Police who set up a controlled drop with Rogers Police. Miles McCutcheon picked up the bag, according to the release.

Detectives investigating the incident determined Latrisha McCutcheon was involved in the planning.

Miles McCutcheon was released Tuesday from the Washington County Detention Center on $3,500 bond. Latrisha McCutcheon remained in custody Wednesday at the Washington County Detention Center.
