Crain buys two dealerships in Northwest Arkansas

— Crain Automotive Holdings says it has purchased two dealerships in Northwest Arkansas, marking its first expansion into that part of the state.

The company said in a statement that it acquired Kent Dobbs Hyundai in Springdale and Hyundai of Bentonville and will operate them as Crain Hyundai locations. They were both owned by Kent Dobbs. Terms of the deal weren't immediately known.

Chris Crain, president of Crain Automotive, said the company hopes to "dramatically improve Hyundai's market share" in the region.

“We are excited to expand into the Northwest Arkansas market and to continue to grow with the Hyundai brand," he said in a statement. "These dealerships are strategically located in areas where we will be able to serve the entire Northwest Arkansas market and we look forward to forging lasting relationships with the customers in the area."

Crain now has nine franchised dealerships and one RV dealership in the state, including Crain Chevrolet of Little Rock, Crain Hyundai of North Little Rock and Crain Ford of Jacksonville.
