Austin Allen will have one more opportunity to shine on the national stage as a Fayetteville Bulldog.

Allen, Fayetteville’s 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior quarterback, has been selected as one of 100 players nationwide to participate in the 2nd Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. The all-star type event, which will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., will air live on the NFL Network.

Allen led Fayetteville to back-to-back Class 7A state titles and was named NWA Media Player of the Year each of the past two seasons. The Arkansas commit threw for more than 7,813 yards and 77 touchdowns in his Purple’Dog career.

He joins Missouri commit Eddie Printz of Marietta, Ga. and Notre Dame commit Malik Zaire of Kettering, Ohio as the three quarterbacks on this year’s Semper-Fi East squad roster.

The Semper-Fi Bowl first took place in 2012 and attracted two Arkansas signees in its first year in running back Jonathan Williams of Allen, Texas, and offensive lineman Jeremy Ward of Pottsville.
