UAPB Coach George Ivory, who played at Mississippi Valley State, interviewed for the position last summer before removing his name from consideration. His Golden Lions have had trouble scoring this season, ranking ninth in the 10-team SWAC in scoring average (51.9) and fi eld-goal percentage (34.7).

Kilbert spent the previous nine seasons at Mississippi Valley State, compiling a 111-156 record, including an 18-14 mark last year, when the Delta Devils earned the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament and an appearance in the WNIT.
