North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison will host a weight management class Mondays at 6 p.m.

starting Monday through Feb. 25 in Conference Room A at the hospital.

The class will include weekly weight checks; individualized meal plans; exercise sessions; lipid panels to check cholesterol levels; body composition measurements;

healthy snacks; recipes for dieters; nutrition presentations;

and physical activity.

The Office of Human Concern will accept applications for the 2013 Winter Home Energy Assistance Program beginning Monday. Crisis program applications will be accepted starting Feb. 4.

The programs are designed to help low-income families with rising energy costs during the winter months. Assistance is available to residents in Benton, Carroll and Madison counties.

Applicants should take with them proof of gross monthly income for each household member. Applications for crisis assistance should be filed at least seven days before the disconnection date.

The main office in Rogers will accept applications Tuesday through Friday. Applications will also be accepted for the crisis program at Carroll Electric in Huntsville; at Loaves and Fishes in Berryville; and at the Manna Center in Siloam Springs.

Residents younger than 60 can pick up applications at local Department of Human Services offices, while residents age 60 or older can pick up applications at local senior activity centers.
