BASEBALL

• NWA Dirtbags, a 16U competitive team, will hold a tryout at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Knights of Columbus field in Tontitown. Team will play a 20-plus game league schedule and 3-4 additional tournaments. Email [email protected] for more information.

• Springdale Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball League signups for players and coaches will continue daily Monday through Friday through March 2 at the Springdale Youth Center The season will begin April 2 and end the middle of June. The cost is $70 for T-ball, $90 for machine-pitch and $100 for other divisions. To register teams to play in the new travel team league, which will play on Wednesday nights only, contact Kyle Hennarichs 616-6423 or email [email protected]. The cost for travel team entry is $600 per team. Signups for Senior Babe Ruth ages 16 to 18 will be held at a later date.

• Senior Babe Ruth meeting will be held March 27 for teams interested in participating this season. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the CED office, 1102 Sterwin St., in Springdale. For more information contact David DeBoard at 966-1063.

BASKETBALL

• Fayetteville Athletic Club men’s basketball league is forming now. The deadline to enter a team is Friday and games begin March 5. All games are played on Tuesday nights. The cost is $400 per team. Contact Hal Freeman at 595-3799 or email [email protected].

FENCING

• Northwest Arkansas Fencing Center in Bentonville will hold registration for March introductory classes. Classes will run Mondays and Wednesdays starting March 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. for 3 weeks (6 classes). Classes for children ages 6 to 9 (Little Musketeers) runs Mondays and Fridays and includes all equipment. Call 696-7776 or email [email protected] to register.

FOOTBALL

• Signups for spring tackle youth football for grades K-7 will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday through March 16 at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Rogers and Fayetteville. GOLF

• The Bella Vista No-Frills, Three-Person Scramble is scheduled for March 23 and 24, on the Kingswood and Berksdale golf courses. Members and their guests may register through Friday, March 15. The tournament is a 36-hole scramble with three drives per person each day. Golfers not included in the Bella Vista Handicap System must have valid copies of handicap cards. Only one player per team may have a negative Bella Vista Scramble handicap. The entry fee is $75 per team, which does not include green fees or cart rental. All teams will compete in both divisions. Fifty percent of the prize money goes to the gross division and 50 percent of the prize money goes to the net division. A team can win in only one division, since the highest possible winnings will determine placement. Forty percent of the field will share in the prize money. Skins and closest-to-the-pin prizes will also be included. All prizes will be gift certificates. • The inaugural Rogers Heritage War Eagle four-man golf scramble will be held April 26 at Big Sugar Golf Club in Pea Ridge. It will be a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Cost is $400 per team.
