Arrest Made in Jogger Assaults

— Police arrested a boy in connection with the assaults women reported while jogging along Cheri Whitlock Parkway.

Deputy Chief Geoff Lewis said the juvenile was being held at Benton County Juvenile Detention Center.

“Our detectives are continuing to follow up with the victims and conducting photo line-ups with them which we should complete today,” Lewis said.

The victims reported the boy ran up to them, grabbed them around the waist or on the buttocks and often made sexual remarks to them before running off.

Four such incidents were reported to police recently including one Sunday afternoon.

Joggers described the boy as a male, 15 to 16 years old, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with very short dark hair.

The person responsible could face charges of sexual assault or assault.
