Sequestration and Arkansas

The White House compiled the following estimates from federal agencies and its own budget office. The numbers are based only on the $85 billion in cuts for this fiscal year, from March-September, that are set to take effect Friday.

Wasn't it convenient for the White House to provide us these figures, when they obviously have no other reason to do so than the kindness of their heart? Just look at that number of law enforcement, employment assistance, and public health workers that are in jeopardy. You'd think they were put to work on some sort of funding stream that was only temporary, but our federal officials would never do such a thing as that - would they? Is that what the huge injection of TARP and recovery money did? Did that program only kick the can down the road for a couple of years, until after the last election and after the public forgets the real problem that was never addressed? Sure our federal government would never do that.
Do you think it might be time to try something else other than temporary (or permanent) spending increases? Haven't we bought enough fish already, isn't it time to quit applying band-aids and really teach people (who want to) to fish?
