Biggerstaff tosses no-hitter for UCA

— Central Arkansas junior Bryce Biggerstaff threw the second no-hitter in school history Sunday, leading the Bears to a 13-0 victory over Jackson State.

Biggerstaff, a right-hander from Sherwood, struck out nine and only allowed one base runner, Phillip Harvey, who was hit by a pitch leading off the sixth. It was the first UCA no-hitter since Mike Moore’s against UALR in 1969.

UCA (6-1) had 10 hits as a team, with Scott Zimmerle going 2 for 2 with 3 RBI and Michael Marietta finishing 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Forrestt Allday scored two runs and had two RBI for the Bears.
